Kunming day 4

Here's a bunch of pictures from the last 2 days. The first is the one I've been dying to capture--Happy Girl!!

In the Kunming Walmart. Right after I took this picture a man came up to us and said "no pictures." I Don't know why we couldn't take pictures but I'm just glad he didn't take my camera away.

Cruising along the furniture

The Kunming Expo Gardens. It was like Epcot center with gardens from around the world. They had a funny parade of floats that zipped around the place. They drove sooo fast.

This was on display in the China Hall. We wonder if that's what the characters actually translate to.
It turns out the US exhibit was closed 2 years ago so the USA now only has a little booth in the International hall squeezed between Peru and Chile. Apparently Kunming's sister city is Denver CO. I think we need to get some Denver people out here to spruce up the exhibit. It had all these random outdated photographs of Colorado and San Francisco and other places. The other exhibits were selling souveniers from the area but the US one was selling some drugs or vitamins. They were Chinese medicines so who knows what that was all about. we all had a good laugh at the pathetic US exhibit.

Shopping near the hotel

Cute little boy hanging out watching his mom cook in the street.

This afternoon we went to Alyson and Natalie's finding spots. That was pretty hard and I did take some pictures but I'm saving them for now. It was hard to imagine the circumstances under which our girls were left to be found. We'll never have a complete story and I would love to have more of Alyson's history for her to have later. We learned a little about the area she was found in so we can make some guesses about her birth parents but there's not much to go on.
the important thing is she'll have a great life from here on out and she will always know that her first family loved her enough to make sure she was found and taken care of.
That's it for now :-)
